The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and its member pediatricians dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of all infants, children, adolescents and young adults. The AAP has 57,000 members in the United States, Canada and Latin America. Members include pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists and pediatric surgical specialists. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
CPSC is an Independent Federal Regulatory Agency. CPSC works to save lives and keep families safe by reducing the risk of injuries and deaths associated with consumer products. We do this by

* developing voluntary standards with industry
* issuing and enforcing mandatory standards or banning consumer products if no feasible standard would adequately protect the public
* obtaining the recall of products or arranging for their repair
* conducting research on potential product hazards
